“Entrepreneurship in a time of uncertainty and change”

Wow! Let’s be honest, did any of us see Covid-19 coming? Overnight, we went from seeing signs of growing confidence in the economy to a world of social distancing, self-isolation and business melt-down.
We’ve all had a massive shock, that we are still reeling from. Frankly, many of us do not yet know what the impact on our business will be in the long, medium or in some cases even in the short term. Whilst the government have been swift to announce measure to help, they are not available to everyone and the speed of execution has been variable. We are all having to improvise and change as we go along. I’ve even had to completely change the topic of this talk.
I can’t claim to have the answers, but I will reflect on what I have done, and what I’ve seen others do to deal with the uncertainty in the short term. I’ll also reflect on how the business landscape may change post-pandemic and what I think some of the keys to success may be in the medium and long term.
One thing is clear to me. The creativity, flexibility and persistence of entrepreneurs will be vital in getting our economy and society moving again.
I look forward to meeting you at the Start and Grow Entrepreneurs’ Networking event. I’m sure we can learn a lot from each other.

Start and Grow Enterprise supports the growth of Gloucestershire-based entrepreneurs and start-ups (trading up to 3 years) through free training, events, networks and resources.
