This is where your business goes from good to great. You’re off the ground and starting to fly, but now it’s time to really hone in on your specialisms, your markets, and solve those challenges which have been building up in the background.
They say that life is what happens whilst you’re making other plans, and that’s the same in business. Often, you’ll have spent so long working in the business that you won’t have worked on the business for a while. That’s what our Growth Day is all about. Take time away from the day-to-day, and raise your head above the parapet. Trust us on this one.
When is the Growth Day course?
This Growth Day is taking place on Monday 6th June, from 10.00am to 4.30pm, with a 30-minute break for lunch.
What will I do?
Over the course of a full day, you’ll tackle the 4 challenges which always strike after a successful start.
Mission, Vision, Value: Defining the purpose of your business is what’s going to make it resonate with your staff and your customers. It’s what keeps your passion alive, and it’s your passion that keeps the business going.
Accountable Goal Setting: Start planning further ahead than what’s for dinner tonight. During this highly practical workshop, you’ll develop SMART objectives for up to 5 years ahead, helping you steer your ship in the right direction at all times. Equipped in this way, you’ll be able to properly prioritise, motivate and lead.
Sell Me This Pen: After a year or two of trading, the elevator pitch from your early days might not cut the mustard any more. To get those bigger clients and customers, and attract investment into your business, you need a powerful pitch that does all the heavy lifting in sales conversations.
Growing Strategically: There’s more than one way to skin a cat, or in this case, grow your business. Whether it’s location, franchise, diversification, new markets, funding, or a combination of all; having a strategy in place for growth is vital. Whether you’re pursuing monumental growth, or scaling to meet the needs of a growing market, this workshop will help you develop a plan to get you there.
Who’s delivering this Growth Day course?
Former National Sales Manager Debbie Bird has extensive and varied business experience from large corporations such as John Lewis and Novartis to her own shops in Cirencester and Hungerford. For more than 5 years, Debbie’s business AbleGrowth has been providing coaching and training support to SMEs in Gloucestershire to maximise the potential of her client’s business particularly focused on general business skills, simple techniques with numbers and sales activities. She delivers down to earth and sound advice which has a transforming positive impact on her clients. Her clients come from a wide range of sectors including engineering, food production, retail, recreation, construction, business services, clothing and digital.
Where is the Growth Day course held?
This course is held in room 8b on the first floor of The Growth Hub in Gloucester; a centre of support and learning for growing businesses, based at Oxstalls Campus at the University of Gloucestershire.
This venue is fully accessible. Both light refreshments and lunch are provided, and parking is available on-site (for £2.55 for the day by card). Please let us know of any dietary requirements at least 5 days in advance of the workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Staying Covid-19 safe
It is advised that you carry out a lateral flow test before entering the University campus, and that you wear a mask while on campus. While these are not compulsory, they will help to keep yourself and others safe.
