Our Power Lunch sessions are short, sharp sessions where you’ll get specialised support to help you solve your business challenges. They’re full to the brim with practical information and short enough to fit into your lunch break.

SEO (search engine optimisation) is often overlooked in favour of social media, yet it can often be the best way to bring in more visits to your website. In this one-hour Key SEO Tips workshop, Ben will share some of his advice on how to build a winning SEO strategy. You’ll learn how to compare your site to the competition to give you an edge, plus many other techniques to help you get to page one on Google.

When is the Key SEO Tips session?

This session is taking place on Wednesday 13th July, 12.30-1.30pm.

What will I learn?

  • Keyword research ideas;
  • How to beat your competition;
  • Advice to make your website faster;
  • Practical SEO techniques;
  • How to measure and assess your website.

Who’s delivering this session?

Ben Kinnaird, founder of Rather Inventive. Ben has over 20 years of experience working with small businesses to global enterprises in marketing and web design. He’s covered a lot of ground, learned from his failures. Ben also produces a marketing podcast interviewing smart and opinionated people, writes a blog with useful content, and works with Fastershire, providing business advice to over 150 companies in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, giving him an incredible wealth of market information.

Where is the Key SEO Tips session held?

This session is held on the first floor of The Growth Hub in Gloucester; a centre of support and learning for growing businesses, based at Oxstalls Campus at the University of Gloucestershire.

This venue is fully accessible. Both light refreshments and lunch are provided, and parking is available on-site (for £2.55 for the day by card). Please let us know of any dietary requirements at least 5 days in advance of the workshop by emailing startandgrow@glos.ac.uk.

Staying Covid-19 safe

It is advised that you carry out a lateral flow test before entering the University campus, and that you wear a mask while on campus. While these are not compulsory, they will help to keep yourself and others safe.

This Power Lunch session is taking place directly after our Entrepreneurs’ Networking morning at the Gloucester Growth Hub. If you would also like to join us in the morning and take part in our business networking event, please find more details and book your place here.

What do people think?

Ben provided helpful and easy-to-follow advice. The latter is very important for me! He is clearly very knowledgeable.

Abi McPherson

Ben was really engaging, and ran a fun and informative session around e-mail marketing. I left feeling motivated and positive with lots of ideas whirring around my mind! I’ve already actioned a couple of them. Thanks Ben.
