The Business Registration Workshop will help you turn your dreams into reality, by guiding you through the process of formalising, structuring and registering your business. This not only means staying on the right side of the law and taxes, but also designing the model that most suits you, your lifestyle, and the type of business you’re starting.

When is the Business Registration workshop?

This online Business Registration workshop is being held on Wednesday 23rd September, 1-4pm.

What will I do?

This Business Registration workshop will help you decide how to structure your business to meet legal requirements and allow for maximum growth.

It can be hard to know the nuances between sole traders, limited companies, partnerships and everything in between. We’ll help you understand and choose between sole trader, limited company, social enterprise and charity – and get you started on how to register with HMRC and Companies House. By looking at business types, formations and models, we’ll help you choose the right one for your circumstances. We’ll also talk you through the how and the why, along with advising on financial and tax requirements.

You’ll leave this workshop with a full legal, financial and operational understanding of the different business structures available in the UK.

Who’s delivering the Business Registration workshop?

Julie Ellison MBA is a business adviser, educator and entrepreneur; she has over 15 years’ experience supporting business start-up and growth, and works with national and international partners develop strong ecosystems of support for entrepreneurs. Julie has also worked for the Growth Hub as a business guide and has a particular interest in helping new ventures to find the right model for their business so they start well and thrive.

Where is it held?

This is an online course, held on Zoom. Get ready by Downloading Zoom to your computer. You’ll get an email to register and then a link to join the meeting. This online course involves exciting discussion, interaction, and practical activities with others in your shoes.

We’re keeping our online course numbers low to give you the best possible experience. So, make sure you book your place sooner rather than later! If the course is full, contact us on startandgrow@glos.ac.uk and we’ll add you to the waiting list.

Start-up Workshops are offered by Start and Grow Enterprise, a University of Gloucestershire project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
