*In person* Start-up Day – May 2022
May 4, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Free
Our start-up day is the first step on the way to building a successful business.
You’ll cover the most important elements of getting ready and getting started, along with those roadblocks that we see so often when great ideas meet reality.
Hearing from specialist trainers with years of experience supporting start-ups and running their own successful businesses, you’ll have the chance to ask the questions that are keeping you awake at night. And what’s more, you can ask your fellow entrepreneurs and freelancers too.
Our start-up day puts you right at the coalface of your business, and helps you give yourself the best possible start to a new business or career.
When is the Start-up Day course?
This Start-up course is held on Wednesday 4th May from 10am to 4.30pm, with a 30-minute break for lunch.
What will I do?
During this Start-up course you’ll tackle 4 of the biggest parts of starting your own business:
Be The Boss: Develop the skills and mindset to keep up the pace, and identify your own entrepreneurial strengths and weaknesses. Being your own boss is never easy, but this workshop will help you visualise a way forward to get the most out of yourself.
Product, Place, Price, Promotion: Learn the art of turning a great idea into a great business, the two are further apart than you think. But with the guidance from this workshop, you’ll identify your unique selling point, how to price your products, and where to find your customers.
Sell Me This Pen: If you can’t get your point across in 60 seconds, it’s too complex. Learn how to confidently deliver your pitch in a short, sharp and successful way. Master the Golden Circle framework to make your conversations more convincing, and develop the confidence needed to pitch under pressure.
Bean Counting: Cashflow is the killer of small businesses, so mastering it before it becomes a challenge will give your idea the time it needs to grow. Master your profit margins and keep your business in the black, by learning how to avoid leaks and learning where to look for finance and funding.
Who’s taking this Start-up Day course?
Richard Gray, Consultant Coach at Canoe. I’m a Mindshop accredited Business Growth Facilitator and mBIT Coach who helps businesses grow profitably and sustainably. As a business owner, I know growing your business can be a challenge but made easier when supported by a capable business coach. I believe all business owners should have access to business coaching, and practising what I preach, I have one myself. Prior to my business growth coaching work, I’ve run businesses in many diverse industries including Transport and Logistics, Recruitment and Technology. I have also managed business growth programs in Gloucestershire and the South West, involving the support, development and growth of hundreds of ambitious businesses. My coaching techniques are based firmly around accountability to achieve consistent and timely results, delivering a more time and cost-effective process.
